Dear All,

Long time no see! I hope you are doing well in your studies.

I would like to share my pleasure on reinstatement of a primary school which collapsed and was washed away by the Nargis. That school was located in a remote village in Pegu Division. There, the Sayardaw of the village has been paying his great effort to establish this school for the children, most of whom are orphans, to get access to regular education. Unfortunately, the cyclone Nargis didn’t spare their school on that night. "Oh my God! We have no school. Where should we go and study?" How poor the children are! Then, Dr. Ni Ni Win, one of the Myanmar students who used to study in Tokyo Medical and Dental University, working as an Assistant Professor in Malay University knew the condition through her parents and began to help as much as she could. She shared the story with me, and her japanese teachers and friends in Japan. Many japanese professors, dental surgeons and students as well as some japanese friends who are helping Myanmar students in many ways donated as much as they could. All together about 30 laks in Myanmar Kyats were collected and sent back. After one month, the school has been rebuilt and the children are now studying happily. I would like to thank all persons for their contribution without which the children would have no chance to continue their study. Sayardaw also sent an acknowledgement letter mentioning that the donation not only meant to those children nor the village they live but also for our country as a whole.
